🎓 A 15-Year Dream Finally Realized: My Journey to Convocation Yesterday, I lived a moment I’ve held in my heart for over 15 years. A moment that represents patience, resilience, consistency, and the grace of God over my life. Walking across that convocation stage wasn’t just about receiving a degree, it was the fulfillment of a long standing commitment to myself. I am Sodiq Bashir Ayomide (GMNSE, GMNIICE), now officially a Graduate Engineer from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Bachelor of Engineering in Information and Communication Engineering, Second Class Honours (Upper Division). This achievement is more than an academic milestone. It is proof that leadership, student politics, community service, and academic excellence can truly coexist when driven by purpose. From day one in FUTA, leadership found me. Not because of titles, but because I genuinely wanted to serve and create impact wherever I found myself. That passion introduced me to responsibilities that many would consider distracting but for me, they became fuel. Leading students, representing bodies, managing finances, advocating for welfare, handling campaigns, and running campus wide projects while still chasing academic excellence was not easy. Some nights were long, some sacrifices painful, and some seasons overwhelming. But through it all, I refused to let service come at the expense of my academics. Graduating with a Second Class Upper remains one of my proudest validations. During this process, I received 23 Awards; Each One a Piece of My Journey Every award I received across these years tells a story of diligence, consistency, community, and growth. Most importantly, I learned that whatever is worth having is worth sacrificing for. Yesterday was more than a ceremony. It was the beginning of a new mission as I, Engr. Sodiq Bashir Ayomide is ready to serve, build, innovate, and lead on even bigger platforms.
