Built FlyTradr for crypto and equities. Found the biggest difference isn't the assets, it's the clock. Equities have a 9 to 3:30 session. Crypto never sleeps. Your algos need to know the difference. What's been your experience?

@yashhq_22 There isnt one. Even legendary organic growth stories had distribution baked into the product itself. Dropbox had referrals Slack had freemium spread. If you think your product is so good it markets itself youve already lost. Building FlyTradr taught me this the hard way

@alexkaybuilds Week 4 is where most projects die. Everyone ships week 1-3 then hits the messy middle. Smart move spending the week on polish and performance instead of chasing new features. upSKILLed is a genuinely useful idea too devs spend forever writing skill files from scratch

Week 4 shipped. 🚀 Built upSKILLed this week — a tool that generates Claude skill files for APIs and CLI tools in ~10 seconds. This week wasn't about shipping more. It was about making it better: faster generation, better UX, cleaner output, and learning where "fast enough" really lives. Also had the surreal experience of watching a Blue Origin explosion light up the sky a few miles away... then going right back to pushing commits. Different scale. Same feeling. Build. Test. Ship. Repeat. 4 weeks down. 8 to go. Consistency over ego. medium.com/p/week-4-ship-…

Execution gets you to the starting line but the starting line shifts every few years. The founders who win spot the next game while everyone is still optimising for this one. At FlyTradr were betting that retail traders will want AI analytics embedded in their workflow not bolted on as a chatbot

The more founders I study, the less I believe startups are won by execution alone. They’re won by seeing the world differently before the rest of the market catches up.

Real shift happening. Design engineer used to mean someone writing production CSS and React. Now with v0 and Claude you can prototype full UIs through prompts. Line is blurring fast. The new differentiator is whether you understand the system behind the pixels not just the pixels themselves

genuinely asking, what are we considering design engineers these days? because I’d consider myself one but I’m not hand writing a single line of code.

The worst part is how contagious it is. One chronic debater in a room can kill 5 good ideas before anyone even gets to explore them. Ive seen it kill features at FlyTradr that later competitors shipped successfully. Finding flaws is cheap. Finding a way through them is the actual work

Chronic debaters are lethal to new ideas for the same reason pessimists are. They sound smart because they’re good at finding flaws before anything has had a chance to work.

Install node and pm2 on the box scp the build folder over point a reverse proxy at it. The real gotcha isnt deployment its keeping it alive. Pm2 restarts on crash but you also need log rotation and disk monitoring. SSH only deployments teach you stuff PaaS hides. Good interview question

Interview question...these seem to be popular. You don't have access to Vercel, or any AWS instance. You are given SSH access, you have an IP address. How do you deploy a javascript web app that uses nodejs as its runtime?

@TerekhinIvan Same here Claude has been wildly inconsistent lately. Mornings it feels like a different model. Ive started session-hopping between Claude and DeepSeek depending on the task. When you are shipping a fintech product you cant afford an AI that randomly phones it in

@michalmalewicz This is painfully accurate. Half the devs I know use Copilot as the primary code writer and review nothing. The name was marketing genius though it made companies feel safe adopting it. We use Claude heavily at FlyTradr but I still treat it as a very fast junior dev not a pilot

Copilot is such a bad name. For most people it’s the main pilot and they’re just passengers.
