Year 3 were joined by Peggy and her owner Guy this afternoon for a year group assembly. They enjoyed learning about the charity ‘Pets as Therapy’ and asked some very thoughtful questions. Peggy and Guy regularly visit our school and we are incredibly grateful for their time! 📚🦮

We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 and 6 girls football team who made it to the semi-final of the Plate competition. Unfortunately they lost 4-2 to Emsworth Primary School, but all of the girls worked hard and represented Freegrounds brilliantly!

Mrs Husslebee launched Science week in assembly this morning! The children thoroughly enjoyed watching her demonstrations and learning about the qualities of a scientist. We hope that they are truly inspired to try some experiments of their own at home!

For our new English learning journey, we are reading, ‘The Selfish Giant’. Yesterday, Year 3 were blessed with glorious sunshine as they wandered through the school grounds. Whilst we walked, we generated positive adjectives to describe the Giant’s garden.

In English this week, Year 5 have been orally rehearsing sentences for their information text about the yellow spotted lizard from our class text “Holes” by Louis Sachar. We practised using nouns other than ”lizard”, such as “venomous creature “ and “reclusive reptile”.
