rhaena genuinely pisses me off because what was she even thinking, she was ready to fly into a battle she knew absolutely nothing about on a dragon that had literally just accepted her after initially refusing to bond with her and somehow expected everything to work out.

@rhynaes I understand that but Jace had a plan and experience; Rhaena decided to trust a dragon that refused her in the first place….

@fxvmss I’m not saying their situations were identical but the point is that both acted out of a desire to prove themselves

@rhynaes the context explains why she made the decisionnot whether it was a good one. i completely get why rhaena wanted to prove herself but she could’ve been more considerate, she was being reckless instead…

@fxvmss calling it purely “stupid” ignores the context. Rhaena had spent her life being seen as the one without a dragon and finally having one meant she believed she could finally contribute in a way

@rhynaes she did know she was riding a newly bonded, untrained dragon into a battle she knew nothing about. that’s enough reason for me to call the decision stupid

@fxvmss A newly bonded dragon doesn’t automatically mean she was acting out of stupidity, rhaena didn’t know everything would go wrong. The outcome was tragic, sure

@rhynaes the difference is jace actually has experience riding vermax and usually knows what he’s getting himself into ( and always has a plan) rhaena had literally just claimed sheepstealer and was about to throw herself into a battle. those situations are not the same 1/2
