@9to5Google @NexusBen I just received the Pixel 10a last week and I love it, a lot more than my Pixel 10 Pro XL (too heavy). Plus it has a SIM card tray, so no ESIM crap. I also have S25 Ultra as well which I like also, since it has a SIM card tray as well. I’ll be using those two exclusively.

Google Pixel 10a Impressions (Long Post: after 12 days of usage) This phone, despite its poor pricing, has been interesting to use & quite refreshing to use. ✅ PROS 1️⃣ I love the size & how compact it feels. I've been using it caseless so far (because there are no good cases available for this phone yet & Pixel 9a's cases DO NOT fit the 10a), and despite that, it is grippy, it is extremely comfy and the edges don't dig into my palms. The flush camera module, which I initially thought was pure gimmickry, is something I've actually grown to appreciate. It's not something I see on every phone, and it does feel different (in a good way). You know what? I love the comfort and grippy form factor on this so much that I might actually go caseless and just get a skin for this phone. 2️⃣ Pixel UI, too, has been a good experience, albeit with some caveats related to lack of multi-tasking features. The phone runs very smoothly, and there's not a hint of lag or stutter anywhere. Animations feel more bouncy and linear, different from most other skins out there. Haptics implementation is also really good, with a good haptic motor used, which alleviates the experience even further. I can start to see why some people continue to swear by the Pixel experience, even though it is still not ideal for me. 3️⃣ The speaker tuning is actually really good. While they are not the loudest I've seen, the speaker tuning in terms of richness, bass and depth is definitely on point. Even at 100% volume, it doesn't sound shrill or distorted at all (which is a major glaring issue on the iQOO 15R that sells in the same segment). 4️⃣ The rear cameras still have its strengths: Still photography turns out good in terms of processing, with great HDR and close to natural colors. While the details are rendered fine in most cases, it tends to struggle occasionally with trees and foliage, creating a water painting effect. But otherwise, the photography is good: be it daylight or low-light. Videography too, is not bad for the price, and the Ultrawide is noticeably better than the 8 MP units seen on vivo V70 Elite, OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R. 5️⃣ Battery optimisation has been good (yes, despite Tensor) Yes, 5100 mAh is actually lower capacity compared to other options (especially Chinese brands), yet I've been able to pull good SoT numbers. With normal usage (2 hours YT, texting, 10 mins camera usage, doomscrolling on socials, and a few calls), you can expect ~8 hours 45 mins of SoT on WiFi (bring that down to 7.5 hrs for 5G). 6️⃣ Tensor G4, objectively, has NOT been a major con here. And here's why: there are many other phones that sell SD 7 Gen4 at this price range, and *STRICTLY against the 7 Gen4*, I feel Tensor G4 is actually a better proposition in terms of performance, ISP and longevity. There has been no overheating or network issues (since the modem is actually upgraded from Pixel 9a's version of the chip), even with summers approaching. I did some medium-term gaming with Rainbow Six Mobile, and it was handled well. However, I'm yet to test heavier games. ❌ CONS 1️⃣ While the display is bright and visible outdoors, the bezels are drastically outdated & the poor PWM tuning also affects me when using this phone late at night. I feel iQOO 15R, V70 Elite and OnePlus 15R have far better displays. 2️⃣ Selfies and portrait mode performance is awful. Bad skin tones, poor edge detection. They need to update their portrait mode algos. 3️⃣ While it has a metal frame, the rear panel is polycarbonate. Yes, the phone won't break when it drops, but the build does feel noticeably inferior to glass-backed options. 4️⃣ Tensor G4, while better than the SD 7 Gen4 options in terms of performance, is NOT competitive against all other SD 8 series & Dimensity 9000 series phones at this price. 5️⃣ Pixel UI lacks essential multi-tasking features I use daily (sidebar, floating windows), & I really wish those are added soon. 6️⃣ The biggest CON: INDIAN PRICING.

Majority of gamers are still playing at 1080p and have no use for more than 8GB of memory. Most played games WW are mostly esports games. We wouldn't build it if there wasn't a market for it. If 8GB isn't right for you then there's 16GB. Same GPU, no compromise, just memory options.
