In Web3, when you ask the “5 Whys”, you end up at identity

It was always predictable. Slowly at first. Just the odd 'exceptional' event. But soon, default. We need an interdisplinary review of the trajectory here. Challenging of course when some policymakers think this is the direction to go in 🤦🏼‍♂️

To become a living space, the internet must first develop a concept of identity. Today we have servers (IP addresses) at the bottom - we have to replace those somehow with people.

2/ With web3, we have a chance to do things differently. Revolving around questions of privacy, portability, and ownership, blockchain-based accounts are one potential answer, offering self-custodial data and universal login.
