Kentuckiana Hoops 17U is on another level than any program in Hammond. It’s not even close. They play harder, faster, and tougher than everyone else. As connected a group as I’ve seen, they are high character kids that play for each other. Kentuckiana is well coached, disciplined, and structured. Evansville big man Connor Turnbull plans to enter the transfer portal, his agent Jake Cohen of Iconic Sports Management told ESPN. Averaged 11.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 blocks this season, was the MVC Defensive POY in 2024-25.

Whether you can play at D2 or D1 they are a heck of a player. You have 3-4 players on the bench out of the portal. I bet they don’t support the university after they leave after 1 year!

With ISU losing everyone on the team, why are we not jumping to offer @BlakeNeill4? We have 4 freshmen and a redshirt freshmen on the roster currently. Why not take a chance on one of the better players in Indiana?

@Sycamore_Ball @BlakeNeill4 Not sure why our local colleges like USI, UE and ISU don’t take the better local kids, develop them which will help build ties with local communities who in turn would support your program. It seems like about 5 years ago teams stopped doing this. Good Luck Blake!

@BRamseyKSR @hunterrgray I don’t like talking bad about a kid and won’t but the representation of girls and boys in Evansville area has been questioned a long time. I put blame on Schools/Coaches for not promoting as well. I would like to know who votes on the Indiana All Stars and where they are from.

@BRamseyKSR Ask Evansville area coaches! Any love for the Evansville area in boys and girls sports for awards get overlooked every single year! Basketball just has an Indy bias which I understand to a point but when there are obvious kids getting overlooked year after year it gets old!

I agree with your list but the Partenheimer kid being 6’9” or 6’10” from what I see and he was top 5 in state in rebounds and block shots. Think his case is strongest but every year this happens!

@kylesokeland Great news! At least a coach involved-they don’t take areas players for these awards. I feel bad for our area kids that deserve statewide recognition. Need article on who puts these teams together. Not an easy task but Southern Indiana gets the shaft every year!

Heath Howington will be an assistant coach for the Indiana Junior All-Star team this summer. The Evansville native won the Class 1A state championship with Barr-Reeve this past weekend. 182 career victories in 14 seasons.

Thanks for info. Definitely shows more to @IBCA_Coaches decisions. Based on stats-Partenheimer is top 100 scorer, 7th in state in rebounds and 4th in blocks. Can’t make top 15 underclassman or small school all state?This kid needs an agent. @UEAthletics_MBB go get this kid!

Someone tell me how you leave Blake Neil off of Supreme 15 and Kamdon Partenheimer off of underclass top 15 and then doesn’t even get all state small school. Simply not right. I’ve watched basketball over 50 years and just amazing who votes or decides on these awards. Crazy/ Sad.
