@lydiakauppi I loved this stuff until I looked into the ingredients. Seventh generation makes a version that doesn’t have petroleum products like this one does.

Also, I’d love to see this type of transparency in the AI space. Like… Cost of training/dev infra, whence your data + what $/process to obtain/curate it, who does data labeling + curation + RLHF, how many workers at what $…cost of inference at X load for Y use case on Z infra,
Signal@signalapp

Signal is a nonprofit. But what does this mean in practice? Today we do something most tech co’s avoid: talk money. What does it cost for Signal to play in a lane dominated by billion $ corporations, while rejecting the surveillance business model? 1/ signal.org/blog/signal-is…

Deaf friends, check this out….
Wendy Lu (she/her)@wendyluwrites

For a @nytimes story, I'm looking to speak with disabled workers about their experiences requesting accommodations. What are the workplace barriers to accessibility? What could be better? My DMs are open (for the first time in years!) or email wendyluwrites@gmail.com. Thank you!

@VRInterpreter Even if we don’t have another job, we have other priorities that need our attention. Don’t start a new topic, or “just one more quick thing” 2 mins before the event end time. “The interps have to leave..” bc you only arranged to pay us until that end time.

@AIIC_SLN So then it shouldn’t be such a surprise why so many interpreters want to continue to work from home. Many are busy moms and WFH allows us ro reclaim hours in our day to also care for our families.

AIIC Sign Language Network
On #InternationalWomensDay AIIC SLN wishes to acknowledge the contribution made by female translators/interpreters/T&I trainers/ T&I academics past & present. Majority of sign language T&Is are women who have led on standards & representation, a fact rarely acknowledged.

@NovicSara @mdemeulder If someone is fluent in ASL and want to become a doctor or health care provider, they shouldn’t have to pay for medical school. Hope you get to have this experience more often.

This looks like a tool that could be incorporated into asl interpreter training. Would be great if this program had an accessibility feature for working with communication access workers like interpreters and captioners.
