My life has been threatened by one of your riders, and I need you to attend to this IMMEDIATELY. This morning, I placed an order on the Global app from Chicken Republic “ChickWhizz”, pay on delivery. I’ve used this app multiple times. My ratings are there. I have NEVER had issues paying on delivery. When the rider arrived and called, I picked up right away my phone was in my pocket the entire time. I let him in through security. He arrived at my door SCREAMING about how I hadn’t been answering. I checked my phone, no missed calls. Network likely dropped it. I stayed calm and asked him to lower his voice. Instead, he escalated yelling that I had no respect and continued using curse words, I refused to be spoken to that way, left the order with him unpaid, and walked back inside. What came next is why I’m on this timeline right now. He sent me a TEXT MESSAGE. Threatening to BEAT ME UP. Threatening my LIFE. Over a food delivery. @glovo your DM is locked, so I’m saying this publicly: This rider threatened my life. I want this on record. If ANYTHING happens to me, I am holding this rider AND Glovo Nigeria fully responsible. Please attend to this. My safety is not a small matter.

Think about this critically without being emotional. Let’s say you are earning $150K per year. That’s a lot of money. Do you think any company is happy to part with $150K every year? No, they are not! They pay you because of two reasons: 1. The value you bring them is much more than $150K a year and 2. That’s what the market rate is for that role. AI is changing both reasons. 1. With AI, they are able to get that same value for much less, sometimes almost 80% less, which makes it a no-brainer for them. 2. Because of the company-agnostic nature of AI, it’s affecting the entire market so rates are down, by a lot too. So, what should you do? Earmark an hour or two everyday to figure out how to use AI in your line of work. Play with it. Master it. Become a better project manager, software developer, tax advisor, whatever, with it. Companies will always need flesh and blood humans. The question is how many. You want to be among the few left because you have taken control of your own career destiny. Protect the bag at all cost!

August 2024: Our baby came, and life has been moving forward beautifully with God, for God and under God. Now imagine if I didn’t know God for myself? This is a woman who brought structure into my life. Money I couldn’t save since 2015, I was able to save within 8 months in 2023......just because she helped me plan better. Sometimes, it’s not about disrespecting pastors or ignoring instructions from spiritual leaders. But you need to have your own relationship with God. Na you wan marry. Not your pastor. Not your family. Pray for personal discernment. Grow with Go and Listen for yourself. Because at the end of the day, na your life you dey live.
