Bitcoin is down 52% from its October high and the death cross has been live for over 200 days. Most people panic at that, the last three cycles tell a different story… The name alone does the damage. It sounds like a signal to get out, and that panic is what drives the emotional selling near the bottom. Every confirmed bear market has ended with the same structure: death cross, one final capitulation leg, then the bottom. • 2018: BTC had already fallen 67% when the cross formed in November. 33 days later, a final 50% capitulation hit. That became the entry long term holders now call obvious in hindsight. • 2022: Price had fallen 50% before the cross appeared in May. 33 days later, another 45% drop. A lower low printed 156 days after, completing the bear structure. Three cycles, three death crosses, three final capitulation legs, all within a month of the signal. It has never once appeared in a bull market, only inside confirmed bear structures, always followed by one more violent move lower before recovery. This cycle's cross has lasted 200+ days, longer than 2018 or 2022, meaning the final leg, if it hasn't already happened, is close. Even Saylor shows the tension. Still publicly bullish long term, but Strategy recently sold a portion of its Bitcoin for liquidity. Conviction on the thesis, real constraints in the short term.
