@mysoloisten The trick was that when Sam drove the plot, Dean had the POV. But later when Dean drove the plot, they didn't give Sam more POV, so it felt flat

yes, Dean was there too, but still, everything that happened was because of sam' character. As interesting as it is dean, he is not as sam. That is why the mark of cain, purgatory trauma, demon dean, and Michael as fun as they were weren't as interesting as the first seasons.

I could make a list that starts with the angels, but honestly, the biggest mistake was to derive the protagonist of Sam to Dean. Yes, both are the main characters, but in the first seasons, the plot revolved around Sam and his story (his powers, Azazel, Lucifer's vessel, etc).

@ladygagarin That fandom was starving before Cas joined in season 4. If Sam wasn’t there people probably would have been shipping Dean with himself or his car. They were so desperate that if you couldn’t handle the incest it was popular to just ship the actors

The idea there is no content for sastiel is pure insecurity because if sastiel get funny date episodes TOO, then destiel isn’t special, if cas has meaningful moments where he says nothing is worth losing Sam, that he was lost till he took in his pain, etc etc….
