My heart and body carries grief it does not know how to release fully at times yet I remember every breath I take, every time I speak my mother tongue, every time I wear my traditional clothes, every time I sing, every time I dance, I am a symbol of what cant be erased.

It is the utter fear of even speaking about ur culture and identity without thousands of dull knives being pressed onto ur very soul both literally and figuratively. It is having to be in a state of escape for acceptance you can not find. For validation you can not seek.

Being born indigenous is so...words truly can not describe it beyond the constant state of grief you are put through, grief for your stolen land, murder of your people, erasure of your culture, it is the feeling of total alienation and disconnect that you cant ever shake off.

For many cultures April is where we celebrate the new year as spring arrives with its colorful new beginnings and I yet my wishes remain the same every year but I have faith that this year is where they will finally flourish.

I hate my voice sm cos I feel like I sound like a kid because I get mistaken for one the phone (based on many true horror stories) but im just so tempted to open my own space and speak however the thought of someone hearing MY voice is yucky like stop perceiving me😭
