Okay, deleted the earlier post as Tulfo clarified Cayetano is still Senate President as they need 13 votes to elect a new leader.
But Cayetano virtually a lame duck SP, with the new majority bloc restoring chairmanships in key Senate committees.

Feeling Supreme Court judge porket may ayaw mo na decisions do remain binding kahit pa decided under an older Constitution unless overturned, that is upheld even in Giron v Ochoa. @ninabeIlatrix1 @josephcarlom @maracepeda The Supreme Court decision for Avelino v Cuenco was on 1949. The Civil Code was drafted on 1947 and enacted by 1949, those codes never changed and our courts follow the doctrine of stare decisis.

The rule of law states na if the case involves a similar legal issue and crucial facts, the court applies the legal principles established in the earlier case unless overturned or unconstitutional.
