Art as a form of #scicomm is one of the topics we’re covering at the #swccconference2024 in #yxe. Learn more and register here: sciencewriters.ca/2024-conference

#Scicomm art comes in many forms... even embroidery! Check out the embroidered artwork of Saskatoon-based artist @lia_pas. Though primarily known as a composer, Lia also creates intricate fibre art of the female body & nervous system. (liapas.com)

Thanks, @trudykeil! We did some marking, too. If you’ve helped send nearly 400,000 emails (and counting) to government through Tell Them Tuesday, you may have received this new form letter response from @jeremycockrill. We’re going to need a new red pen.

@SmallDogFred Understood though that bias and logical fallacies are related but not exactly the same. Just supporting your urge to post them on the wall!

@SmallDogFred This is a poster in my son’s room, a gift from my husband when our boy showed an interest in logic/debate. A normal part of our dinner discussion now is, “What logical fallacy is that?” And he’ll say, “It’s on the wall!”

Update: I wrote my comps. Five four exams, one each day this week. Two more weeks and then I defend them. Then I write my diss. Then I defend it. Then, when my students call me Dr., they’re not wrong. The end is in sight. #phdlife

Just quietly sobbing in the security line at the #yxe airport. Leaving is the hardest. So hard that quitting this PhD crossed my mind more than once. But it’s just four more months and I’m home for good. And I cannot wait.

Does *every* Canadian lose the ability to park in parking lots in the winter or is it just that yxe is full of morons.

If you chose one word-just a single word- to focus on this for this next year, what word would you choose?
