We were looking for the comet tonight in Alberta and saw this instead. Anyone know what they are? When they reached the midpoint they sort of seemed to turn away from earth and we couldn’t see them anymore (they’re moving, I’m not):

Yesterday someone here on the prairies asked me if there was “a special way to say Happy Birthday in uh Jewish” and the worst part was that (as the only Jew some people have ever spoken to in real life here) I couldn’t even make a wheezy, Jackie Mason-accented joke. Torture.

I want to talk about Tim Walz and GSAs, as one of the founders of the first-ever Gay/Straight Alliance in a high school, in 1990 at @Concord_Academy. A thread: The GSA movement was a student movement, which took hold for complex reasons - a collision of increased awareness about
