@yveslibra i think there's a difference between having a preference or fondness for outwardly gay/trans/whatever stories and being completely uninterested in what a work is trying to convey or has to say if it lacks that element of queerness. obviously i love gay/trans shit in art too

alot of white queers want “our version” of the n word without understanding that the context in which that slur became part of the black community's vocabulary was very specific and doesnt need to be replicated in every oppressed group
