Wembanyama played a near perfect game — all of that and Portland still hung around The Blazers won the minutes when their starting lineup (Jrue, Scoot, Deni, Tou, DC) were on the court together. This is not a series where we are severely outmatched talent wise This is a series where shooting will fluctuate and we will get our opportunities. This is a series that will be won on the glass and in the margins. The Spurs were better in those margins in Game 1, but we lost by as much as we did because of the stark three-point shooting discrepancy We are not outmatched, we just have to play our best to win. Voltei até o draft de 2019, quando caí até a 29ª escolha sem nem treinar com San Antonio. Ali, a franquia apostou em mim, e veteranos como Dejounte Murray, DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge e Patty Mills me ensinaram como ser profissional. Eles viam algo em mim antes mesmo de eu enxergar. Em 2024, olhando pro nosso momento, percebi o quadro maior. O time tinha futuro, sinais claros de crescimento… mas havia um problema: eu. Tive que encarar isso de frente. Deixar o ego de lado não é fácil, mas era necessário. Escolhi confiar no processo. Abracei meu papel, fiz o que o time precisava e voltei a ser eu mesmo. Hoje, me sinto em casa em San Antonio. Venho de uma cidade minúscula, com valores simples de família, e isso molda quem eu sou. Nosso time cresceu assim também. Sem atalhos, aprendendo com os erros e criando uma identidade própria. No fim, o mais importante pra mim é que a organização nunca deixou de acreditar em mim. Isso me deu confiança pra continuar. Porque evolução é uma jornada própria. Leva tempo. E eu só continuei, continuei, continuei. Você vai cair, vai passar por momentos difíceis… mas precisa ter coragem pra levantar. A gente tá no ringue agora. E a gente tá pronto.
