Interesting news this a.m.: In announcing the creation of a new task force to determine what social-emotional supports MCPS students need, Council Member Craig Rice says he no longer supports having SROs in schools. Rice has been a strong supporter of the program in recent years

MCPD spends just 4% of their time on violent crime. That being said, why are we wasting $3 million to have SROs sit in the building and disparately harm a majority of students?

Defund police from traffic enforcement! There’s no reason traffic enforcement can’t be automated, especially considering the worst disparities happen in traffic enforcement. Black people make up 18% of the pop. but are 63% of residents searched and cited. #BudgetVoices2022 #moco
