Launch reflections & what’s next for somethingcool ⬇️
1/ No matter how much you prepare — you’re never ready for everything.
We experienced a huge load in the first 15–20 minutes after launch and some of you ran into bugs/delays. We’re sorry for that. Since then, we’ve pushed over 15 updates in just 22 hours thanks to your feedback.
2/ somethingcool is in beta — and launched less than 24h ago.
Our main goal was to test our core tech under real load. And it passed. Rewards were distributed correctly. Nothing broke. Now we’ll keep improving the UX, UI, speed and features every single day.
Now we can confidently say: we’ve built something that no one has been able to implement before in web3. Real-time holder rewards. No staking. No locking. Exclusively on Solana.
3/ Users need infra. Infra needs traction. Traction needs users.
We get it — many expected huge x’s on day one. But what we built is an entirely new DEX, not just another launchpad launching on Meteora or Raydium.
That means onboarding will take time. And that’s okay. We consciously chose the long and hard road because we want to give the market something new.
You have to understand: right now, somethingcool is basically an isolated sandbox. We haven’t yet integrated with dexscreener / jup / axiom / photon / gmgn / bullx / bonkbot etc, but of course we’re working on it.
It’s priority #1. Once they’re in place, we can start building a full-scale ecosystem around somethingcool & cooldex.
Until then, please be careful trading on 3rd-party platforms. Most don’t see CoolDEX pools yet, and may route you into low-liquidity pools on other DEXs.
It’s temporary. Stay patient.
4/ We’re not a VC-baked project, no funding rounds.
We’re just builders from the community trying to launch something truly different.
To show that new mechanics and new ideas are still possible.
It takes time. We’re here for the long run. And yesterday was just the beginning.
I really hope you can see our launch with understanding, and I promise you, in time, you’ll see exactly what we’ve been building toward with @somethingco_ol & @cooldex0.

Ponzi mechanics vs real-time holder rewards. SPL22 vs @somethingco_ol SPL tokens. You’ve probably seen those tokens on Solana that auto-distribute $SOL to holders — like $IMG, $REVS, $DISTRIBUTE, and others. All of them are built on the SPL22 token standard. Sounds cool in theory, but in practice - not so much. Here’s why: 1. To distribute $SOL to holders using SPL22, you have to add a “transfer fee” instruction directly into the token contract. 2. This fee applies to every transfer — not just buy/sell trades. So holders lose tokens even when simply moving them between wallets. 3. The $SOL rewards come from dumping the token. The contract sells the tokens it collects via the transfer fees, meaning there’s always one address constantly selling your token. Any scanner or trading terminal will flag that — not a good look. 4. Distribution isn’t automated on-chain. Devs need to manually trigger it every few minutes. If they stop — rewards stop. 5. The transfer fee can’t be locked. A dev can change it anytime — even to 100%. That opens the door to honeypots. This is exactly why many CEXs avoid SPL22 listings altogether. 6. Even Coingecko has only ever listed ~20 SPL22 tokens. Not exactly reassuring for a serious project launch. So yeah — SPL22 might be the newest token standard on Solana, but it comes with major tradeoffs and trust issues. That’s why we built something different. CoolDEX and Somethingcool use the classic SPL token standard, and we’ve created a reward system for real-time holders that actually works. Rewards are distributed automatically after every transaction — with no staking, no locking, and no fund control required. Everything is handled by the DEX itself through a mix of on-chain + backend logic. That means no one — not even the token creator — can mess with your rewards. It’s simple, secure, and transparent.
