Wednesday, 15 April 2026 – The Local Content Steering Committee held its first meeting of 2026 at the headquarters of the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), in the presence of H.E. Mohsin bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, along with representatives of operating companies, to enhance coordination and support the ICV objectives in the Sultanate of Oman. The meeting reviewed updates on the implementation of previous decisions, ongoing projects, as well as performance indicators for 2025, and the proposed indicators for 2026 in preparation for approval. The meeting also included a presentation by Oman LNG on the I-Center initiative to support innovation and enhance local content. The committee emphasized the importance of developing initiatives, increasing SME participation, and improving workforce efficiency to achieve sustainable economic impact.

الأربعاء، 15 أبريل 2026، عقدت اللجنة التوجيهية للقيمة المحلية المضافة اجتماعها الأول لعام 2026 بمقر الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال)، بحضور سعادة محسن بن حمد الحضرمي، وكيل وزارة الطاقة والمعادن، وممثلين عن الشركات المشغلة في القطاع، وذلك لتعزيز التنسيق ودعم مستهدفات القيمة المحلية المضافة في سلطنة عُمان. ناقش الاجتماع مستجدات تنفيذ القرارات السابقة، ومتابعة المشاريع الحالية، إضافة إلى مراجعة مؤشرات الأداء لعام 2025، واستعراض المؤشرات المقترحة لعام 2026 تمهيداً لاعتمادها. كما شهد عرضاً مرئياً من الشركة العُمانية للغاز الطبيعي المسال حول مبادرة (I-Center) لدعم الابتكار وتعزيز القيمة المحلية المضافة. وأكد الاجتماع أهمية تطوير المبادرات، وتعزيز مشاركة المؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، ورفع كفاءة الكوادر الوطنية بما يسهم في تحقيق أثر اقتصادي مستدام.

Monday, 13 April 2026 – The Oman Energy Association (OPAL) and Sohar International Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster cooperation and sponsorship, aimed at providing innovative and integrated financial solutions that meet the needs of OPAL members. The agreement also includes enhancing joint collaboration between both parties to support OPAL members in addressing the challenges facing the sector, by delivering integrated financial and technical solutions that contribute to their growth and business sustainability.

Sunday, 12 April 2026 – The Oman Energy Association (OPAL) delivered the Level 3 Professional Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, in collaboration with the National Training Institute (NTI). The program aimed to equip participants with the professional competencies required to effectively perform the role of an assessor and enhance their capabilities in assessing vocational achievement. This contributes to improving the quality of vocational education and training outcomes, as well as enhancing the efficiency of training delivery in line with best practices. This initiative is part of OPAL’s ongoing efforts to develop national capabilities and build a high-quality professional assessment system that meets the needs of the sector.

الأحد، 12 أبريل 2026 – نفّذت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال) برنامج الشهادة المهنية (المستوى الثالث) في تقييم الإنجاز المهني، وذلك بالتعاون مع معهد التدريب الوطني (NTI). ويهدف البرنامج إلى تمكين المشاركين من اكتساب الكفاءات المهنية اللازمة لأداء دور المُقيِّم بكفاءة، وتعزيز قدراتهم في تقييم الإنجاز المهني، بما يسهم في رفع جودة مخرجات التعليم والتدريب المهني، وتحسين كفاءة تنفيذ البرامج التدريبية وفق أفضل الممارسات المعتمدة. وتأتي هذه المبادرة ضمن جهود أوبال المستمرة في تطوير القدرات الوطنية، وبناء منظومة تقييم مهني عالية الجودة تُلبّي احتياجات القطاع.

Monday, 6 April 2026 – The Oman Energy Association (OPAL) held its regular meeting with the Energy Sector Camp Standard Review Working Group as part of ongoing efforts to review and enhance the Camp Standard. The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals and various operating companies. Discussions focused on strengthening the implementation and governance of the Camp Standard across multiple areas, aiming to improve worker welfare and reinforce health and safety standards within Oman’s energy sector. This initiative reflects OPAL’s continued commitment to promoting excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sector, in close coordination with industry stakeholders.

الاثنين، 6 أبريل 2026 – عقدت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال) اجتماعها الدوري مع فريق عمل مراجعة معيار سكنات العاملين في قطاع الطاقة، وذلك في إطار الجهود المستمرة لمراجعة هذا المعيار وتطويره. وقد شارك في الاجتماع ممثلون من وزارة الطاقة والمعادن وعدد من الشركات المشغّلة. وركزت المناقشات على تعزيز تطبيق وحوكمة معيار سكنات العاملين عبر مختلف الجوانب، بما يسهم في تحسين رفاهية العاملين وتعزيز معايير الصحة والسلامة المهنية في قطاع الطاقة بسلطنة عُمان. وتأتي هذه المبادرة ضمن المراجعة الدورية للمعيار القائم، تأكيداً على التزام الجمعية المستمر بدعم التميز والتعاون والتحسين المستمر في القطاع، وبما يعزز التكامل مع مختلف الشركاء في قطاع الطاقة.

Wednesday, 1 April 2026 – The Oman Energy Association (OPAL) held its first working group meeting to develop the Contractor HSE Management Standard for the energy sector, in collaboration with subject matter experts from operating companies. The initiative aims to establish a unified and consistent approach to managing HSE within contractor operations, covering both pre-award and execution phases. Discussions focused on identifying key challenges, reviewing current practices, and addressing critical gaps, laying the foundation for a more transparent, robust, and standardized HSE management framework across the sector. This marks an important step toward stronger governance, enhanced collaboration, and improved HSE performance across the energy industry.

الأربعاء، 1 أبريل 2026 – عقدت الجمعية العُمانية للطاقة (أوبال) الاجتماع الأول لفريق العمل المعني بتطوير معيار إدارة الصحة والسلامة والبيئة للمقاولين في قطاع الطاقة، وذلك بالتعاون مع خبراء مختصين من الشركات المُشغِّلة. تهدف هذه المبادرة إلى إرساء نهج موحّد ومتسق لإدارة الصحة والسلامة والبيئة ضمن عمليات المقاولين، بما يشمل مرحلتي ما قبل إرساء العقود وأثناء التنفيذ. وقد تركزت المناقشات على تحديد التحديات الرئيسية، ومراجعة الممارسات الحالية، ومعالجة الفجوات الحرجة، مما يمهّد الطريق لإطار عمل أكثر شفافيةً ومتانةً وتوحيدًا لإدارة الصحة والسلامة والبيئة على مستوى القطاع. ويمثل ذلك خطوة مهمة نحو تعزيز الحوكمة، وتحسين التعاون، والارتقاء بأداء الصحة والسلامة والبيئة في قطاع الطاقة.

سعياً لتمكين الكفاءات الوطنية الشابة، يعلن المعهد العالمي لتقنية المعلومات، بالتعاون مع وزارة العمل والجمعية العمانية للطاقة (أوبال) وبدعم من شركاء القطاع (PDO، OXY، جلفار، نجد الأهلية، والعمانية العالمية للاتصالات)، عن فتح باب التسجيل في برنامج مهندس تخطيط. تفاصيل البرنامج: • نوع الفرصة: تدريب مقرون بالتشغيل (12 فرصة). • مدة التدريب: 9 أشهر. • المنحة الشهرية: 250 ريال عماني. 🗓️ آخر موعد للتسجيل: 14 أبريل 2026. 🔗 طريقة التقديم: عبر مسح رمز الاستجابة السريعة (QR Code) المتوفر في الإعلان.
