Should you quit your job / drop out of school to pursue a business or YouTube? I don’t really speak about my personal life on here. But here is a bit of a personal story Now I hated school, with a burning passion. Not to say that I was bad at it I was top of my year. But regardless I still hated it. I would constantly complain and and get the teachers to make an arrangement for me to work on YouTube during classes if I kept my grades perfect. Now, I did this and YouTube was doing pretty decently. But, my parents always wanted me to go to college etc. But I knew I really did not want to since I hated the school system. I remember waking up every day, and the first thing I would utter out of my mouth would be f*ck I really don’t want to go to school, I hate it. Now I had 4 months before college applications would close so I had to make a plan and fast. My parents were hard to convince but i told them If I earn 20k per month profit for 4 months straight before the end of the application term you’ll let me go on a gap year. If I don’t I’ll apply for college Now I also said that If during that gap year I can keep those numbers up, I’ll be free to pursue YouTube. And so I did, fueled with my absolute hate of school i grinded out those 4 months. Showing them actual results instead of empty promises. Now honestly people sometimes ask me where my drives comes from. And it doesn’t really come from any material or money aspects. It comes from the Absolutely frightening thought of me having to return to school, or a life where I cannot choose what I do that day. A life where someone tells me my exact schedule. And I think this principle holds true in a lot of way. You will run harder when you are getting chased by a lion VS when you get promised $10.000 at the end of the road. So, should you drop out of school / quit your job to chase your dream. In my opinion, no - I don’t think you should as long as you do not have the results to show for it. If you’re truly driven enough I think you can build it up next to whatever you’re doing and once you have the results you are free to quit. But don’t chase dreams based on empty promises. Be hungry enough to show yourself you can achieve them before making radical decisions. I think challenging yourself in this way, and using it to fuel your journey is the single most powerful drive in the world. Guru’s romanticise the idea of going all in. But it’s plain stupid if you don’t have results Looking back, was it an insane decision? Yes! Do I regret it? No not a single second my life has so far been full of blessings and I wouldn’t want it any other way. In my experience I’ve learned 10x more than any business study or marketing course can teach. I’ve been able to travel the world, meet amazing friends through YouTube and just all round live my dream. And I am truly grateful for that opportunity Anyway, ted talk over thanks for sticking with me and reading 🙏
