“During a workout you’re breaking down soft tissue and really stressing your body. How you treat yourself in between workouts is where you make gains and acquire the strength to attack the next one.” Olympian Deena Kastor explaining the importance of between the workouts!

I’ve come understand more of myself in my time away from running. I am SO looking forward to getting back to it, but I’ve learned that I find some of the things I love about it in unexpected places like tending to my garden 🌸🌱🌻 👩‍🌾🪴🌞💦 🥰

Plus side to not being able to run while recovering from surgery the last 5.5 weeks: I’ve nurtured a passion and developed a gardening hobby. It brings me joy, peace and satisfaction similar to running, which surprised me but actually makes a lot of sense

For runs - I guess my question is, can I easily just run around there and explore without a plan. What about long run - can I do long stretches or more likely to be looping?

The saddest form of success is realizing that the goals you achieved weren't yours at all. In the short run, pursuing other people's dreams earns approval. In the long run, it's a recipe for regret. A meaningful purpose doesn't maximize your status. It matches your values.

A not so hot take: Novices shouldn't worry about exercise zones or get lost in the details. When you aren't that fit...everything is a stimulus. And intensities blend together. Get fit by doing lots of slow & easy...before worrying about the details too much.

11th overall at the La Jolla Half Marathon. 900 ft of elevation gain. Fastest mile 6:28. Slowest mile 8:30 up Torrey Pines Probably took it out to slow considering I finished the last 400 meters at 5:58 pace. Usually I am a fly and die type of girlie 🤣 instagram.com/p/CseRvDPpZ4F/

A fanny pack strapped to you should not count as a bag when you board a plane. Right? Makes it so much easier to get to ID and phone/boarding pass and literally takes up no more room.

@JWLevitt I heard somewhere that creating your own word for a brand (esp if you use familiar yet unique words/sounds) is a really smart biz/marketing decision. Maybe it was @oiselle_sally who shared that? It seemed genius to me - I think it works!

Using LinkedIn a lot more lately and I just can't believe how many company names are just completely made up words. Why not at least attempt to put your value prop in the name???

What non-Hoka, non-Altra trail shoe are you really liking right now? Need some more options in my arsenal. (nothing against those brands, just can't do Altras and I've tried every Hoka 😆)
