I was 38 when Covid disabled me. I went from living an active & full life (I ran like 30 miles a week, taught Vinyasa yoga, tennis, sailing, traveling—it was a dream) to bed-bound & deathly ill for YEARS. I even made End-of-Life plans. In 2021, Let It Rip countries decided to pretend Covid was benign & everyone was exempt from it, despite the fact that many immunocompromised people were getting vaccinated & dying of Covid anyway. Then we watched as all of our allies abandoned protections & us. People were EXPERTLY manipulated to believe *only* “the high-risk” would be dying, so it’s fine. The part the public didn’t hear is the part where Covid is a preexisting condition, & if you’ve had it, you’re probably “high risk” right now. You may not even know you had it until you die of a stroke or heart attack or rare diseases & cancers in your 20s, 30s, & 40s. Ever since The Great Unmasking, young people have been dying in RECORD numbers, & in 2023, the U.S. reported the largest increase in pediatric mortality in 50+ years, but it’s never, ever COVID. It’s always lockdowns/substances/diet/genes/lifestyles—INDIVIDUALS are always to blame, but never the government, employers, or our broken system. We don’t collect data or do science when the results will require us to take action. We don’t even count the people who have been disabled by this virus. The New School of Public health works for business & business alone. As the U.S. ignores 4 years of record disability & death, skyrocketing rare diseases/cancers, & an ongoing Pathogen Apocalypse featuring a F**K TON of once-rare pathogens western medicine doesn’t really have any experience with, no one will be spared. Like HIV, Covid causes immunodeficiency, leading to frequent infections with unusual pathogens, & each reinfection *dramatically* increases all the risks & causes more harm. When COVID disables you & then kills you prematurely, no it didn’t. That was all you. It’s your fault. Bad genes, bad lifestyle, bad diet, bad addictions, bad choices. Our governments & corporate overlords aren’t content to simply cull us, they’re destroying our MEMORIES too. People don’t get to be remembered as pandemic victims killed by fascist governments that function to protect billionaires & record profits, rather they are remembered as causing their own premature deaths. It’s criminal. We are on our own. Be good to yourselves & others, because we are speedrunning collapse, & things are going to move very quickly.
