@papayathreesome Air Optix Night & Day. I was a little vague when I first posted I guess. I've worn the same brand for 30ish years but the name has changed as its been bought by other companies or consolidations have happened.

@petulantskeptic what brand do you wear? as i understand, you don't seem to have any adverse effects which google suggests might come up

this tweet significantly improved my life - before reading it I didn't know continuous-wear contacts were a thing now on my second pair (swapped the first after 21 days). all the pros of contacts, none of the daily hassle

@papayathreesome I usually wear them for 4-6 months depending on when I remember to change them out and when they seem to change in clarity

@petulantskeptic do you wear each pair for 6+ months or was it an one-off?

@papayathreesome also to the "why not LASIK"? I have access to free LASIK via my healthcare but have declined bc trading the very minor annoyance of these contacts for definitely needing reading glasses in the future (I'm near-sighted) seems like a bad trade

@papayathreesome it seems to be some combination of "they tried this tech in the 80s and it went bad" and "optometrists revenue stream is threatened by '28 day continual' contacts that can actually be worn for 6+ months"
