@zachcaceres Let it do more with less intervention, read the novel it outputs, redirect where needed, keep the conversation synchronous

How are people reliably getting Claude to be less verbose? Not `caveman` please!

@IamAroke We’ve been spoiled for years, building efficiency was a tomorrow problem, a scale question, versus an everyday issue. Remember Flash…

Is the cloud getting too expensive or are developers just building inefficiently?

Is it just me, or does Claude’s loading text get progressively more unhinged when it’s cooking? Flibbertigibbeting…

@cvmilo00 “It makes good decisions” I think is what Claude CLI told me today on startup

Wondering what the actual real-world use cases for the new Fable 5 are right now. Anthropic just said that routine coding and debugging tasks will fall back to Opus 4.8 in the near term. If the model is mostly routing back to the previous one for normal dev work, what’s the point of using Fable 5 today???😂

The goal isn’t automation. The goal is acceleration.

@seoscottsdale Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Finding the sweet spot between over engineering vs under engineering is an art.

@seoscottsdale I love finding the nuances in the abstraction, debugging until I find out the bug is in the language or framework itself. Tracing it all the way up feels like winning a video game.

@pixelatedjace Absolutely! Abstractions are like onions in software—layers upon layers hiding the mess below. But get one wrong, and the whole system weeps. What's the wildest abstraction fail (or win) you've seen in the wild? #SoftwareEngineering

Software engineering is a story of abstraction, the art of managing complexity, one layer at a time.

The real future may not be humanoid at all, but an orchestration of task-specific robots.

Physical beings, virtual world-models. Whether you’re silicon or carbon, you simulate before you act.

The gap between simulation and reality keeps shrinking. From game engines to robots, it’s all just software figuring out how to see, plan, and move.

@pixelatedjace True! Here is an example:
Robert Scoble@Scobleizer

The single task robot maker. If we want to automate the world we will need a lot more than humanoids. Andrew @a_andlyu caught my eye in my tours through @fdotinc in San Francisco. He is building a robot and AI to pick up blackberries and put them in boxes. Worked with farmers. Found a need. Then built a robot and teleportation controller. And now is training a model to see and move blackberries. He is a small example of why I love San Francisco so much. One guy can build a robot company that can help farmers put food on your table.

Humanoid robots make great demos of what’s possible. But small, specialized robots are already doing real work, at scale. The future is human form. Today, it’s focused function.
