I remember when this person on deviant art made a whole bunch of these. At first it felt like a bit but a lot of them were just very strange, I remember as well on there they made a post about how they'd rather kill themselves than be in a world with jade... Shit was weird.

Alphys' square glasses are also based on John egbert's. Toby said this on the 6 year undertale anniversary stream where they replayed Chapter 1 of Deltarune.
He also said "shout out to the best comic"

In Undertale, when you reach MTT Resort, one of the NPCs you encounter at the resort is called the "Business Manticore", as named internally. Their design resembles a character named "Jade Harley", who is from Homestuck, a webcomic that Toby Fox previously composed music for.
