Academia is so much poorer for the drive to coin terms and claim to be the first to do X, rather than being in conversation and relation to each other and our work. This is clearly a response to the confluence of labor conditions and ego, but we don’t have to capitulate to it.

@dfedman Paper City was incredible. I saw it at @SBIFF this morning. It's a painful, powerful film. It pulls you into the survivor-time of trying to share an experience that cannot be reduced to language, and of wondering whether and how the pain will be remembered and acted upon.
