i remember running around on the farm at night in the summer. there was wet overgrown grass and my legs were covered in bug bites and the crickets and frogs were screaming. some nights there were homemade fireworks and some nights there was summer rain and counting the seconds after each lightning strike. and some nights i would catch fireflies in my hands and peer at them between the cracks in my fingers and wonder why they would stop glowing until i released them. not being in the city meant i could scream and laugh as loud as i wanted to. it was so magical. i would like my kids to experience the same summer nights, but maybe they wont get to. maybe ill tell them these stories before they go to sleep.

The future is not creating a power drill from scratch for every task. It's making reliable tools that can easily adapt to the task. A power drill provides motorized torque in a handheld format. It's more malleable than a screwdriver because you can change the bits.

i propose we be gentler with one another when we notice an error someone has made. pointing it out does not have to include "you moron" and in fact, reveals how you speak to yourself in your own head. even (and especially) if the person has been rude to you, there is simply no need to sink to their level. it only harms you.
