Steve Kerr shares what made Gregg Popovich and Phil Jackson such great coaches. "What I loved about both of them - they're very different from one another, but they both had the same quality." "You knew they cared about you. You could feel that they loved you and they cared about you. But you were a little afraid of them." "Just a little bit. Almost like you'd feel about a parent." They had that great balance of warm and demanding. Then he clarified: "Not afraid physically, but you were afraid to disappoint them. That's probably the better way to put it." The sweet spot: care and accountability. "They both cared so deeply about me and my family. They knew everything about my life. They asked questions. They were more engaged and more involved with me than any coaches I ever had." "Knew all my kids' names. That stuff matters." "And then at practice, if you weren't on it, you were gonna hear it...What a great combination." They loved you enough to know you. They loved you enough to push you. NEWS: 6'4 PG Ollie Engen (@OllieEngen), a USports All-Canadian this season & arguably the BEST PLAYER in the Canadian USports league, is exploring NCAA D1 opportunities and is receiving heavy interest. The sophomore had a great year for a very good Queens team this season, averaging: • 20.6 PPG • 4.4 RPG • 4.6 APG • 50.7% FG Engen has impressive quickness & change of pace for a big guard, and is a great finisher around the rim + in mid range areas with ELITE touch & feel as both a scorer and a passer.
