Enquanto isso no Brasil a gente tem professores nas maiores universidades do continente disponibilizando link no drive de livro pirateado. Deus abençoe a pirataria. Deus abençoe o acesso irrestrito a educação e cultura. Que todo autor coloque o pix no PDF e jogue no libgen

When I first started my career, they told me not to live near the shipyard because it was sketchy. But apartments were cheap, and I couldn’t get over the fact that I would have a practically private “beach” right next to the ghost of America’s first nuclear aircraft carrier.

This went for modding games too.
There was an unspoken rule amongst modders back in the day (I assume, I wasn't then nor am I a modder now) that modding a game was not something people sought compensation for.
They did it cause they enjoyed it. I'm sure there were exceptions but for the most part that's what I saw.
A decade ago (that hurts to type) Skyrim's Steam Workshop had implemented a paid mod workshop that was largely unregulated and people could set their own prices.
Most modders at the time thought this was stupid and made ridiculous mods at ridiculous prices as a way to show the absurdity.
My favorite was the 30 dollar "extra apple" mod.

To put it more plainly, the internet was better when people weren't making money from it. It is bad now, because people are trying to make money from it.
