@redact__ 1. Eu has their own money printer 2. Doubt the EU has net benefit from relationship with US. Nordstream bombing -> buying LNG from US. Deindustralisation hurts both, but you have all the hi-tech etc. US stock market >> EU. US bonds>EU

@stack_collymore I definitely wont wont argue that European bureaucrats are less entrenched than American - Which is why America still had more of a hope to recover But US surviving is definitely going to force EU to get their shit together Especially with Trump admin not giving them free money

@redact__ During the debt crisis Greece was 'forced' to (pretend that they) downsize. It took them 2-3 years & multiple courts/laws to fire the first public servants, namely those caught taking bribes

@stack_collymore Not as bad as the EU but US is still very bad Only reason this can happen now is that they finally threatened too many competent rich people over last 8 yrs & they worked to get Trump complete control of gov Extremely rare event - Trump and Elon both best at firings so can work

@redact__ True, election went much better than we expected/hoped. He seems capable of doing a millei/bukele turnaround. US is a much bigger boat, but yr bureaucrats don't have the protection they have in the EU

@stack_collymore I'm not sure how long that can last tho. Thinking through new future expectations still Trump's team being this unbelievably competent across all departments wasn't something I really saw coming and this breaks all my future models - I think everyone else's as well

@stack_collymore Yea I don't think it happens under this admin for sure to not screw over the bond holders - particularly retirees and US won't need to do this immediately since DOGE etc is going to cut trillions of waste, then deregulation and tariffs are going to generate massive surpluses
