Spent a very interesting couple of hours at @MedAire in Phoenix, AZ yesterday being shown their superb facilities. Nearly all major airlines use their Medlink facility if we have a medical issue on board a flight. We can call them up via satellite telephone and be connected to a Doctor who will help diagnose the problem, suggest medication and treatment and, where necessary, discuss where to divert the aircraft for severe cases. I had cause to use this facility on a flight last year when we had to divert in order to save a young man’s life. I wanted to visit in order to thank everyone at Medaire for their help and advice and see the team myself. So thank you to Dr Baron and all the team for showing us around yesterday. It was incredibly interesting and reassuring. However, in the nicest possible way, I hope I don’t have to speak with you again anytime soon! 😄✈️

More from our visit to @Airbus at Filton, Bristol yesterday where @emmabull88 and colleagues hosted us for a repair information day. We did the chance to have a look around various parts of the site and including #A350 landing gear testing and fuel systems. So interesting 😄✈️
