Today is the last day of my 50’s… Tomorrow I turn 60. It’s been a wonderful journey so far… So many beautiful, incredible things have happened to me. I’ve played my music to thousands of people around the world in the most stunning venues, worked with some of the world’s most acclaimed artists, orchestras, film directors and human beings. As a performer, I’ve played, and mostly sold out, everywhere from The Royal Albert Hall to Sydney Opera House, The Hollywood Bowl and Glastonbury’s main stage. I’ve chaired and sat on the boards of many charitable organisations for creatives and spent decades dedicated to furthering my craft for myself and gladly helping others in their own work. I’ve been graciously and so kindly acknowledged by many international institutions, with awards, doctorates, honours and critical praise. I’ve even come through a recent heart attack feeling fantastic again. It’s been mind-blowing, to be honest. I’ve loved every second. How could I not? I’m so lucky. So please understand and believe my sincerity when I tell you… I’d trade it all for the return of just one of the thousands of children’s lives taken in Gaza… because each of those kids was deprived of all the opportunities I’ve been blessed with. We all deserve a chance to live a beautiful life.
