There is blockbuster movie called HRIDAYAM in Malayalam directed by Vineeth Srinivasan and produced by Subramaniam It stars son of Mohanlal and daughter of director priyadarshan So far so good They use a telugu Tyagaraja Keerthana ‘NAGUMOMU GANALENI’ for a romantic song. Even good But what do they show in the song ? Hero takes heroine to a restaurant where they serve them hot Beef curry and Parotta and the heroine eats it and gives a look like that is the best food she ate in her life I agree Beef is national dish of kerala and they have to show it in every movie or else Govt will ban the movie Their state their food their culture Iam fine with it But what was the necessity of using a sacred telugu RAMA SANKEERTHAN as back drop for showing this ? Telugu hindus don’t eat beef we consider cow as mother Saint Tyagaraja was a pious hindu brahman who is considered most iconic among all the carnatic musicians He lived in Tanjore and composed carnatic music songs in Telugu and Sanskrit (classical telugu is virtually indistinguishable from sanskrit) on Rama bhakti That is how intertwined sanskrit kannada telugu and tamil were in pre periyar era. They all considered themselves as part of bharat culture Today most of Tamil nadu has gone into Dravidian mode and malayalam into arabic Beef mode We Telugu and Kannada hindus still retain out Sanatan culture and we don’t want our Rama Sankeertan to be used to enjoy beef. Please use some arabic songs to do it.
