Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene are essential for every child's survival, health, learning, and protection. As we mark the Day of the African Child 2026, we call for greater investment in equitable and child-friendly WASH services, especially for vulnerable children.

Mukono District Local Government has launched a renovated Neonatal Care Unit at Mukono General Hospital with support from Save the Children. Deputy RDC Muyambi urged men to support their wives during pregnancy and childbirth. A big step toward reducing newborn deaths in Mukono.

In VSLAs, SBCC is utilized to enhance financial mgt skills, promote a culture of saving & address social norms that hinder participation. Providing a sustainable solution to social protection by combining financial assistance with behavior change to improve livelihoods.

47 new teachers are being oriented in Nakivale, guided by Dr. @CleophusMugenyi Commissioner, Basic Education @Educ_SportsUg. This milestone brings the total number of teachers supported to 400+, directly improving learning, protection and safety for children in primary schools.

Access to quality education is a lifeline for children in Uganda’s refugee settlements. With support from DG @eu_echo the ECHO RISE Consortium is deploying 206 additional teachers to fill critical gaps across Kyagwali, Nakivale and Rwamwanja.

We have launched a new project in Palabek Refugee Settlement with support from @UNIQLO_JP 's PEACE FOR ALL campaign. The project strengthens education, improves literacy and expands child protection services for refugee children.

Through the concluded URRI Reflection Workshop, we have reviewed progress & updated the Theory of Change to align to emerging challenges with a clearer roadmap for turning evidence into policy action we are building resilience and inclusion in refugee-hosting districts.
