Human rights are under attack on a world wide scale. If they matter to you, you will have to fight much harder than is currently happening.

“Thank you that you don’t forget about Ukraine.” That’s what Zelenskyy said to me today. I’ll carry that with me forever. So grateful to be in this beautiful country, telling the truth about its fight for survival, justice and freedom. 🇺🇦❤️

@joni_askola It is simple, really. The Russians are transparent. Looking back through centuries. If they claim it, it is a lie until proven otherwise, which rarely happens. No agreement they sign will be honored if they think they can get away with violating it. ALWAYS and FOREVER. Endemic.

Russia lies about absolutely everything, turning deception into a core state policy. With a regime built entirely on constant fabrications, how could we ever trust a single word they say again? Russia lied about the "separatists" in Eastern Ukraine back in 2014. They claimed they were just local rebels when it was actually the Russian army leading the charge. Back then, many in the West seriously argued they weren't Russian troops, but everyone knows the truth now. They shamelessly lied about downing the Malaysian Airlines plane. Today, the world knows with absolute certainty that it was a Russian Buk anti-air system that downed it. They spent an entire year moving mass amounts of troops to the border while explicitly promising they had no plans of attacking Ukraine. They maintained that exact lie until the very last day before launching a full-scale invasion, followed by immediate lies about why they were attacking. When they got decisively defeated around Kyiv, they lied again, calling their chaotic retreat a "gesture of goodwill." A year later, they even changed that lie into a brand new one, claiming they withdrew because Ukraine was about to sign a peace deal in Istanbul. Everyone knows Russia would never withdraw pre-emptively before any papers are signed. They didn't leave out of kindness or diplomacy. They simply got defeated. Since then, they have just been repeating the same old fabrications, proving there is zero reason to trust anything as long as this regime is in power

HODGES: I think a lot of Russia’s professional military officers know that Putin’s war has destroyed or severely damaged Russia’s military and its ability to defend itself. I could imagine Russian military leadership at some point saying, “This is enough.” We need to accelerate to that point as quickly as possible. I think that’s part of Ukraine’s strategy when Minister Fedorov says the goal is to create 50,000 Russian casualties per month. I mean, that is dramatic. Those are losses that can never be replaced.

@DakdaR22 We are lucky Russia attacked Ukraine. Starting with Budapest Memorandum, chronic delays in promised weapons & restrictions on use of 2nd hand weapons, and only now, after they created their own weapons is the support amping up. They are tougher than any of us.

@KristiRaik Silly question, really. With what would Russia attack/invade a NATO country with? Their army is decimated, they have fuel and economy crisis at home, a situation that is it is rapidly getting worse!

Will Russia escalate by attacking a NATO country, usually assumed to be a Baltic state? The question has come up in many conferences and discussions I’ve attended during the past months. Often the debate leaves many misperceptions to be corrected. Some points below 1/

🇷🇺🧐 On June 26, former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov did not fall out of a window and die, but was killed in an accident during the beating of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The incident took place at Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai, where Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was urgently summoned after communications relay stations were shut down. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave Lukashenko an ultimatum: either Belarus would switch off the relay stations that Russia was using to guide missiles, or Ukraine would destroy them with drones. After the relay stations were turned off, Putin became furious and ordered Lukashenko to come to Valdai immediately. During the meeting, a fight broke out in which members of Putin's entourage attacked Lukashenko. It is claimed that Lukashenko fell onto Sergei Ivanov, who suffocated after choking on fecal matter. Medics who arrived at the scene were unable to save the former defense minister. The presumed fate of Alexander Lukashenko remains unknown. It cannot be ruled out that he was eliminated.

During one operation, Ukrainian forces quickly captured a column of Russian armored vehicles. But instead of simply blowing up the tanks and IFVs, Ukrainian crews did something the Russians never expected. They climbed into the captured Russian tanks, switched on the Russian radios, and calmly drove deep into enemy territory pretending to be Russian forces. The Russian convoy had been moving in tight formation. Ukrainian soldiers rapidly neutralized the crews, seized the vehicles, and within minutes were driving along the very road the occupiers had just used. They spoke Russian over the radio, used Russian call signs, and even copied the style of Russian communications. At checkpoints, Russian troops simply waved them through, believing they were friendly units returning from a mission. The Ukrainians then drove straight onto the grounds of a Russian brigade headquarters. Once the tanks were inside the base, Ukrainian crews suddenly turned their turrets and opened fire. Headquarters buildings, ammunition depots, and vehicle parks instantly descended into chaos. Russian troops ran between tents in panic, shouting and firing in every direction — but it was already too late. They had allowed a “Trojan horse” directly into their own base. The entire operation lasted only minutes. Ukrainian forces captured the headquarters, took Russian officers prisoner, destroyed key military targets, and withdrew without losses.

Ukraine still lacks infantry
Joni Askola@joni_askola

Ukraine’s temporary edge in mid-range drone tech raises a critical question: Will Kyiv use this fleeting window to launch a major offensive before Moscow inevitably catches up? While the technical edge is real, severe manpower shortages mean the world should expect localized, opportunist pushes rather than a massive, map-altering campaign. The memory of past campaigns looms large over this decision. The brilliant counters of 2022 proved Ukraine’s mastery of the battlefield, but the grinding, costly 2023 offensive showed the brutal limits of trying to force a breakthrough against prepared defenses. For its part, Russia hasn't managed a genuinely successful offensive since 2022 either, relying instead on meat-grinder tactics to crawl forward at an unsustainable cost. Recent history shows that Ukraine can still seize the initiative, even if it cannot always hold onto its gains. The Kursk incursion was an incredible operational success initially, acting as a powerful symbolic victory that shattered the myth of Russian border security. However, Kyiv simply lacked the infantry numbers and strategic resolve to permanently commit enough resources to hold the area long-term. Meanwhile, smaller, localized counter-attacks in Kupiansk and the southern sectors continue to prove that Ukrainian forces retain the tactical bite needed to reclaim ground. Reigniting large-scale maneuver warfare is exceptionally difficult in an environment saturated by short-range FPV drones that instantly target any armor concentration. Yet, new advancements in mid-range strike drones and UGVs could theoretically disrupt this stalemate and open up fresh operational lanes. Despite these technological opportunities, a sweeping major offensive remains an extreme gamble. Ukraine is still heavily constrained by a lack of infantry and general resources, whereas Russia retains deep pools of men and material despite absorbing punishing losses from Ukraine's deep-strike drone campaign. Everything is possible, but the reality on the ground suggests Ukraine will keep playing it smart, exploiting local vulnerabilities for small wins rather than gambling an excessively large part of its forces on a massive offensive

- russian Lavrov: "Europe is becoming a threat to peace and security on the continent, as it increasingly follows a confrontational course.. We are not rejecting dialogue, but any attempt to impose ultimatums on Russia is unacceptable.” 🧐 European countries have not crossed their borders, the one who is murdering and repeatedly threatening and endangering European states is Russia.!! ultimatum? If I remember correctly, the last peace plan was effectively a Russian dictate.🧐 So? What is it..!🤷‍♀️
