A look inside at the current work being done on Velayat: Discourse on the Islamic Republic from the Right. I'm currently going to be working on this one instead of the larger Politics of Gheyrat simply because I want to take more time to delve into the sociology necessary for the latter. Essays in Velayat may or may not be uploaded to Substack at some point, but the book itself should be approximately 200-250 pages when complete, edited and adjusted. In Velayat, I examine the 1979 Revolution from the vantage point of the right, the Islamic Republic, and the Islamic Republic's military organizations. Some chapters will be dedicated to analysis from theoretical frameworks of Evola, Nietzche, Sorel, Khaldun, Khomeini, Ahmad, Filmer, Gentile and others, while other chapters will be more about comparative analysis between the Islamic Republic and movements such as Italian Fascism, National Socialism, the Rumanian Iron Guard and others. The goal here is not to definitively argue that the Islamic Republic is a fascist system- it's not and it's more complex and idiosyncratic, unique to Iran and its historical context- but to discuss how it borrows from these movements and in which ways it is dissimilar.
