@g_bonfiglio The difference with systems resiliency is that the sudden loss of _only_ 30% of capacity is likely a catastrophic event, you can't really plan for your company to be able to run with 2/3 of cash available.

It might be due to resilience being part of my job but my personal savings have *always* been spread out across 2/3 banks. It’s not a lot but knowing such an event can at max wipe out 1/3rd of them makes me sleep better.

@g_bonfiglio Incident reporting duties are a major pain in the back, and bank usually model their own internal SLOs over them to avoid reporting.

@g_bonfiglio The 99.5% that I've seen in other replies is a technical guideline for banks APIs consumed by 3rd party providers, not end customers. And it's a KPI requirement not a SLA, meaning that banks should set it an measure it, nothing else.

Does anybody know which kind of SLA/reliability standards banks are required to have for their apps/website? They are strictly regulated on what they can do with money, but is there a law which forces them to allow me to - say - move money in N hours since I decide to?
