Let’s be clear. The conflict in Middle East has global implications. Malaysia will definitely be impacted. The Government is on high alert mode. Many meetings are done behind the scene to prepare for the impact on rakyat, businesses and industries. Yesterday, MK2 chaired a meeting on Middle East conflict and the impact on Energy Security. Meeting went into late evening. Government is taking necessary steps to ensure stable supplies for domestic and industrial demand. Yes we are more resilient than most Asian countries, but we will also feel the pain.

Fuel prices at the pump in Malaysia have already increased by 51% due to the Iran war (and even 88% for Diesel). And this is one of the most resilient economies in Southeast Asia in this regard, given it has the second largest oil reserves in the region (after Vietnam), and a large refining capacity. Scale this globally and you start to understand just how devastating this war is for the global economy - and how much worse it is for countries with no oil industry at all.

Saya kenal Pak Mus sejak tahun 2006. Beliau ialah pengasas KEADILAN Pulau Pinang dan antara Pengarah Pilihan Raya KEADILAN yang paling dikenali. Gambar ini diambil di pejabat beliau di Pulau Pinang. Saya mula bertanding pada tahun 2008. Waktu itu, saya memang masih mentah dan tidak tahu banyak perkara. Saya masih ingat, borang pencalonan pun saya tidak tahu hendak beli di mana. Mujurlah ada Pak Mus. Beliau sangat prihatin terhadap calon-calon baharu seperti saya. Banyak perkara beliau tunjuk ajar dan nasihatkan kepada saya tentang selok-belok dunia pilihan raya. Sifat Pak Mus sangat fatherly — penuh kasih sayang, prihatin, dan sentiasa mengambil berat tentang kami semua. Dalam dunia pilihan raya, beliau seolah-olah “bapak” kepada ramai antara kami. Saya amat terhutang budi kepada beliau. Pagi tadi saya dimaklumkan bahawa beliau berada di ICU. Namun, petang tadi beliau telah kembali ke rahmatullah. Saya hanya sempat menziarahi beliau di pusara. Jasa Pak Mus akan kekal dikenang. Al-Fatihah.

MENILAI SEORANG PM Dah masuk separuh penggal, honeymoon is over. Golongan Atas Pagar (GAP) yang dulu syok dengan DSAI mula-mula naik jadi PMX, sekarang dah mula tarik muka. Ada yang dah mula kritik dan menjauhi. Tapi itu standard sekali. Dah berapa cycle dah kita ada Perdana Menteri? Dari Pak Lah, DS Najib ke Tun M. Dari TS Muhy ke DS Ismail Sabri. Sama patternnya. Mula2 harapan kita tinggi, ini PM hopefully lain dari yang lain. Kena 1/2 tahun, popularity mereka menurun. Ingat bila kita syok dengan penggal pertama DS Najib. Dengan ETP dan 1 Malaysia. Tak berapa lama 1MDB meletup sudah. Habis lepas tu dark side dia keluar. Sampai meranap BN 60 tahun memerintah. Ingat pulak macam mana orang syok dengan Abah. Boleh baca doa. Masuk tahun kedua, dia sakit cerry berry pun orang buat bahan lawak. Orang dah start menyampah. Hatta Negarawan Ulung tak berkecuali. Masa jadi PM teruk juga kena troll dan dimaki. ************** Cuma Anwar Ibrahim ni sedikit lain. Orang benci dan caci dia level yang tak pernah kita lihat. Tiada PM yang dihentam dari banyak side. Asbab bila jadi Pembangkang 30 tahun lamanya. Keluar masuk penjara. Menjadi sasaran majoriti jentera Kerajaan lama. Dijadikan boogeyman. Kononnya Boneka US and IMF. Tali barut Israel. Ini semua propaganda yang melekat hingga kini. Makanya apa saja yang dibuat untuk negara, dipandang dari “lensa benci”. Sebagai penjawat awam dari tahun awal 2000, saya turut termakan dengan naratif ini. Saya cautious bila dia naik jadi Perdana Menteri. Ada benda kita puji. Contoh political stability, pengurusan subsidi dan kebolehan geopolitik. Ini kita patut bagi kredit. Tapi ada juga benda kita tak puas hati. Seperti rekod sembang tak serupa bikin. Tindakan korupsi dendam dan terpilih. Kita harapkan dia lain dari yang lain. Penyokong nya kata his hands are tied. Dia kena manage Kerajaan Perpaduan. Banyak kena kompromi. Pembenci dia nak dia turun kalau boleh semalam. Tak tertahan mereka lihat dia memerintah Malaysia. Pada saya, dia seorang PM yang mula2 masuk memerintah pun ramai dah benci. Hasil politik kebencian 30 tahun lamanya. Dia kena kerja kuat untuk tunjuk dia PM Malaysia, banyak side yang dia kena ambil hati. Selepas 3 tahun, ramai yang dah mula start tak puas hati. Termasuk penyokong sendiri. Tetapi itu standard mana2 Perdana Menteri. Takdenya GAP akan syok dengan satu-satu PM sepanjang masa. Ada ketika akan menyampah punya. Cuma bila tiba pilihanraya. Kita akan mula nilai prestasi. Merit dan demerit. Dan pilih the lesser evil pada negara. Dan sama ada belah lagi satu, bagi alternatif yang lebih baik pula. Yang paling penting, kita menilai bukan dari lensa benci. Atau berlandaskan persepsi. Tapi atas data dan fakta serta pencapaian sebenar. Kerana dalam pilihanraya, kita bukan sekadar memilih pemimpin, kitalah yang menentukan masa depan negara. Gagal seorang Perdana Menteri, yang turut gagal adalah kita. Moga Tuhan terus lindungi Malaysia dari pemimpin dan parti yang menjahanamkan negara. Dan kita tak tertutup mata untuk menilai mereka. Salam hormat, Liyana Marzuki

Kenyataan Fadhli Shaari ni konon nak nampak logik dan bijak, tapi sebenarnya bodoh. Walaupun hanya 10% pengguna melebihi 300L, itu kumpulan heavy users la bingai! They used more than the majority. Polisi subsidi bukan kira bilangan orang tapi kira jumlah penggunaan. Memang la 10% tapi golongan tu yang maximize BUDI95 tu. Heavy users walaupun jumlah tu kecik tapi consume bahagian paling besar. Kerajaan bukan nak jimat pada bilangan orang tapi dia nak jimat pada jumlah liter subsidi. Bezanya besar. Contoh: 10% orang ≠ 10% subsidi. Boleh jadi 10% orang = 35% subsidi. Sebab tu KJ kata hangpa pembangkang bangang! Jadi kerajaan pun hauk, jadi pembangkang pun sampah. Bodoh!

As I age, my hatred for war and the stupidity of leaders who provoke it grows ever greater. I am deeply thankful to live in a country governed (largely!) by common sense, respect for others, hence for peace. Respected in turn by others. Well done Dato'Seri and God bless Malaysia!

KENYATAAN MEDIA YAB PERDANA MENTERI IKHTIAR DAMAI CERMINAN KEMATANGAN RAKYAT, PERTEGUH PERPADUAN Saya menyambut baik ikhtiar perdamaian oleh Badan Bukan Kerajaan (NGO) yang mewakili badan Islam dan Hindu yang menjadi suatu cerminan tahap kematangan rakyat dalam memilih jalan damai, menolak perpecahan dan mengangkat semangat saling menghormati. Inilah ruh dan jiwa sebenar Malaysia, sebuah negara yang teguh berdiri atas nilai ihsan, kebersamaan dan hormat antara kaum. Sinar Harapan ✨ Setiap kali hujan lebat, rumah keluarga ini di Sungai Dua akan dinaiki air. Bapanya seorang cleaner di USM, namun sudah 3 bulan tidak bekerja kerana sakit. Ibunya pula mualaf dan suri rumah. Saya mula kenal mereka sejak ziarah kasih waktu Covid — ketika itu kita bantu laptop untuk anak-anak belajar. Tahun ini, saya dimaklumkan mereka langsung tiada baju raya. Jadi saya bawa mereka ke Sunshine Square untuk membeli persiapan Aidilfitri. Melihat senyuman mereka, kita diingatkan — kadang-kadang, kebahagiaan itu sangat sederhana. Bagi yang lebih bernasib baik, marilah kita hulurkan bantuan. Sedikit dari kita, besar maknanya buat mereka. Sama-sama kita bawa sinar harapan. 🤝✨

“Tahun ini lebih ok sikit” “Alhamdulilah ok…” Begitulah maklum balas daripada peniaga kecil Ramadan di Pasar Ramadan Permatang Damar Laut dan Desa Wangsa. Nampaknya ekonomi rakyat semakin ok 👍

Petrol prices in Malaysia. 1. Global oil price jumped 30% to USD100 per barrel. 2. Malaysia RON95 maintained at RM1.99 per litre, while unsubsidized petrol rose RM0.68 to RM3.27 per litre. 3. Diesel maintained at RM1.88 in Peninsula and RM2.15 in Sabah and Sarawak. Unsubsidized diesel rose to RM3.92 from RM3.04, up RM0.88 per litre. 4. This will lift total fuel subsidy to RM3.2 billion per month from RM700 million before the conflict. 5. In 2025, Malaysia imported RM54.11 billion woth of crude petroleum (69% from Middle East). 6. In 2025, exorts were Rm23.76 billion (26% Thailand, Australia 26%, Japan 16% 7. Why Malaysia imports oil? It's because oil in Malaysia is of higher grade and higher price. It makes economic sense to export. Thus, Malaysia imports to lower grade and mix them with higher local oil and processed them into Petrol for cars. 8. Malaysia importers are: PETRONAS, Hengyuan Refining, Petron and Vitol. 9. Malaysia refining companies: Petronas Chemicals 10. Malaysia petrol products marketers: Petronas Dagang 11. Malaysia petro stations: Petron, PETRONAS, Hengyuan to Shell and Vitol to BHPetrol. 12. Malaysia is not a member of the IEA, which requires membeers to hold 90 days min of stocks. Malaysia relies on commercial storage for reserves. Does not hold reserves in a traditional sense. 13. Based on estimates, Malaysia holds about 1-2 months of refined product. Japan 8 months, South Korea 7 monts, China 3 months, Indonesia 23 days, Thailand 3 months, Singapore same as Malaysia. 14. Commercial storage players: Dialog, operates about 5.14 million cu m in capacity, 51% for short term clietns and 49% for long term clients. 15. Petrol Stations hold about 2 months supply, in line with storage capcity. 16. Hengyuan storage capacity is about 2 weeks. 17. PETRONAS has directed Malaysian crude to domestic refineries to maximise production for local consumption. 18. Historically, 20% of Malaysian crude is sold on the spot market. The rest on long term contracts. 19. IEA members have agreed to release 400 million barrels (about 30%), which could cover 20 days of shortage. 20. FOr Malaysia, the issue is about price, not on supply. Using local oil is more expensive as they are of higher grade. 21. In a worst case scenario, aka prolonged supply uncertainty could trigger export ban. Malaysia govt can direct PETRONAS to prioritse doemstic supply over export contracts, although this is unlikely at unless the crisis escalates. 22. In short, Malaysia is better positioned than pure importers like Singapore, Phillipines. 23. Despite that, Malaysia has room to improve in formal strategic reserves - it should benefit storage players.

Malaysia’s Record-Breaking Investment Streak 🇲🇾 2023 — RM329.5 billion (historic high) 2024 — RM384.4 billion (historic high) 2025 — RM426.7 billion (historic high) Three straight years. Three historic highs. From 2023 to 2025, Malaysia achieved record-breaking investments year after year. This achievement did not happen by chance. It was driven by: • Political stability • Consistent policies • Ease of Doing Business • Rule of law • A highly skilled workforce • Aggressive international promotion by PMX and MITI team All these factors have helped position Malaysia as a competitive and trusted investment destination. Between 2021 and 2025, 4,848 manufacturing projects were approved by the National Committee on Investment: • 84.9% already at implementation stage • 12.0% at planning stage • Only 3.1% abandoned Thank you PMX, TZA, LCT, MITI, MIDA, and every Malaysian who contributed to this success. Malaysia is moving forward with strength and confidence.

Q) M’sia is a net energy exporter… but who in M’sia benefits from higher energy prices? A) Mostly exporters; not necessarily the rakyat or even the govt This is 'cos: 1) M’sia is 3+1 things at once: an oil producer, an oil exporter, an oil importer. And a major gas exporter - it produces (light, high quality) crude oil, mostly offshore in Sabah, Terengganu, S’wak, and exports lots of it. So exporters benefit from higher oil prices. Same for gas exporters, with higher gas prices - ⁠It imports (heavy) crude oil mostly from Saudi, UAE, Africa that M’sian refineries refine, partly for local consumption & partly for export, and capture the spread So when energy prices increase, it is M’sian exporters that benefit 2) Oil is priced *globally*, not domestically (gas mkts are more nuanced). Even the oil M’sia exports, it still sells into the global market, where *global* demand / supply sets prices -> This underscores that being a net energy exporter doesn't insulate you from higher prices. Even with fuel subsidies in place, M’sia imports *refined* oil products such as gasoline, jet fuel, specialized oils for machinery/ mfg etc. In fact, last year, M’sia imported RM92 bil worth of such refined oil products, mainly from SG, S. Korea, India. That’s almost 9% of all goods imports! Higher costs of such refined products directly or indirectly affect M’sian businesses & rakyat 3) But what about govt: doesn’t govt benefit from higher net energy exports? Not necessarily. First, when it comes to oil, M’sia has turned into a net importer in recent years of both crude & refined products. This is a surprise but a fact. So higher oil prices lead to a higher import bill. Second, is whether higher commodity-based revenue is enough to compensate higher fuel subsidy spending. If not, govt will not benefit necessarily from higher prices. We'll crunch the numbers, and more, in our next economic update soon, so pls stay tuned…but for now, suffice to say that headlines such as "a net energy-exporting country benefits from higher energy prices" is simplistic…you have to distinguish btwn refineries, exporters, govt & citizens End/

18 years ago today, I was elected for the first time as Pantai Jerejak State Assemblyman. It was a historical election termed as Malaysia’s “Political Tsunami “. A generation of inspired voters were also born. They were call Generation 308. 💪🏻 At that time, Little did I know, we have embarked onto a tumultuous political journey. Since then, Malaysian public together with many young novice politicians like me, Nurul Izzah, Chang Lih Kang, Amiruddin Shari, Hannah Yeoh, Chin Tong and many more, we have embarked on transformative political journey. For the past 18 years, our political transition is remarkable. From a 60-year one party rule semi-authoritarian nation progressing into a (still work in progress) free and democratic nation. From the fear of another May 13 incident to peaceful transfer of power and multiple changes of governments. These are success stories to be proud of AND lessons to learn from. Malaysia is progressing on a right track. Nevertheless, we are a country still work-in-progress. The incessant politicking, never ending racial provocation have eroded the confidence of the rakyat in democracy. Personally, I believe in Malaysia. I believe the goodness of our people. I have devoted more than 18 years to build a new Malaysia. I will continue to put my hearts and minds into this Malaysian Project 🇲🇾 May we continue to build our country together.
