🚨 Spot the difference in the pics below if any. Bengaluru: Pls speak up & inform fellow citizens about the scam that props the unscientific Tunnel Rd (real estate) proposal. BBMP's Final Feasibility Report is wholesale copy-pasted from BMRCL's old Corridor Improvement Plans.

Bengaluru - Be wary of the real estate projects pretending to be a traffic congestion solution. Public Investment. Private Profits. That is the modified BOOT model.
ChristinMathewPhilip@ChristinMP_

Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said with road widening unviable, tunnel roads are the only solution. "After discussions with @nitin_gadkari and PM @narendramodi, plans are underway. Land acquisition will cost ₹2,000-3,000 crore & construction about ₹17,000 crore. He said Karnataka’s cost is ₹700-800 crore per km, lower than ₹1,300-1,400 crore in other states".

Can you guess which is this place in the picture below? The only clue is it's in Bengaluru.

And what is that fine print, Bengaluru? "It's 5 real estate projects connected by a new Tunnel Road. Twice the traffic expected to be removed by the Tunnel Road will be newly generated. More real estate linked road building is injurious to sustainable mobility."

Four Thousand Crores (4000) per km is the true cost of the proposed Tunnel Road in Bengaluru. Now you know the true cost, what are you going to do about this? Silent Apathy. OR Strong Objection. Choose the latter if you care about the city.

Given the blatant plagiarism in the 2024 BBMP Final Feasibility Report, the legitimate question on all Bengaluru citizens' minds is this: Was the Feasibility Study conducted at all? How could BBMP pay 5.5 crores for it? @DeccanHerald - Thanks for flagging copy-paste culture.

BMRCL provided 3 inputs to the BBMP proposed Tunnel Rd & thus put Red Line metro in jeopardy. 1) It's Corridor Improvement Plan was plagiarised as Feasibility Report 2) Its Ph3a DPR geotechnical work found its way to DPR 3) Sacrificed Hebbal land & its ED endorsed Tunnel Rd

Dear Bengaluru, Think about this, pls. At ~4000 crores/km, is it worth building the N-S Tunnel Road? It is tolled & Real estate revenues don't accrue to taxpayer. Will it at least reduce long term traffic congestion? NO. It actually increases traffic due to new real estate.

There is a difference between "reference purposes" and "plagiarism". After using old BMRCL traffic data to conceive whimsical projects, B-SMILE still has the gall to defend it. Why? Because they are confident that citizens don't care enough. Bengaluru, let's bust that myth.

Bengaluru cannot pursue the flawed Tunnel Road proposal now. - How can 2019 traffic data be blatantly misrepresented as 2024 data? - How could BBMP pay 5.5 crs for plagiarised work? It is now crystal clear that all BBMP proposals are flawed. BBMP must be held to account.
Tejasvi Surya@Tejasvi_Surya

I have been flagging this for over a year. And now it stands exposed. BBMP’s so-called “feasibility study” to ease Bengaluru traffic is nothing but a cut-and-paste job of a 2019 BMRCL-commissioned report, with over 60% of its content blatantly copied. For this academic fraud, the BBMP has spent ₹5 crore of public money, only to push a pre-decided agenda - the ₹40,000 crore Tunnel Road project. This is not governance. This is daylight loot backed by intellectual dishonesty. Despite such a disgraceful revelation, the @Siddaramaiah government continues to bulldoze ahead with a project that risks irreversible damage to Bengaluru’s future, clearly driven by vested interests. Will the State Government now scrap this flawed project? Will accountability be fixed for this blatant misuse of taxpayer money? #TunnelRoadBeda #BengaluruDeservesBetter deccanherald.com/india/karnatak…

5 lakh fine for DPR cut-paste. What must be the fine for wholesale plagiarism, Bengaluru? BBMP recycled BMRCL's old Corridor Improvement Plans & claims it as a fresh Final Feasibility Report to recommend unverified Tunnel Road solution. How is this right Bengaluru? #SpeakUp

Bengaluru's proposed Tunnel Rd bets against science. Fact: It's a real estate project. 5 commercial complexes reap more traffic than removed by the Tunnel Rd. Fiction: Tunnel Rd will ease traffic congestion & car commuters will pay INR 20/km to use it. #SpeakUp Bengaluru 🙏🏼

My latest #TharoorThink column in the @IndianExpress explains why I have not joined the widespread liberal critique of the Indian government’s “moral failure” to condemn the US-Israeli attack on Iran. India has too much at stake to indulge in the morally gratifying grandstanding that could have placed vital national interests at risk. As the late Kofi Annan advised me, citing a Ghanaian proverb: “never hit a man on the head when you have your fingers between his teeth!”
