Every time they don't pass a grade, your rate goes up because they're a more difficult kid. Every time they need a medication, your rate goes up. I think the intentions of increasing the rate was to incentivize good people to stick with it. What it did is incentivize all the wrong people. People who are in it for the money instead of for the love of a child” I looked into this and found federal audits have been done proving that fosters kids are being over prescribed medications, up to 4x the normal rate and the foster parents get payment increases for it Not only that but with behavioral issues it can bump payments up to over $6,000 per child per month
