A subscription program is more than just creating automatic recurring orders. It's an opportunity to better serve loyal customers.

Launch day is a day. Subscription programs are a month over month affair. Good post implementation support is key.

Subscriptions = e-commerce + long term thinking

Take advantage of proactive emails to customers. Subscribe Pro can send emails to customers about their upcoming order, when their credit card is about to expire, and much more. An informed customer is a happy customer.

Limit subscription frequency to three or four choices. Less is more. There are exceptions but it's a good rule of thumb for most e-commerce merchants.

Nothing? Free shipping? 5% off? 10% off? 15% off? Test different discount incentives for your subscription program. You'll want to find an incentive that drives sign ups without taking too much margin.

Leave one-time delivery as the default selection on your product details page. We've found that surprising customers with a subscription program hurts retention.
