In my very first school, there was a ‘pie the teacher’ event. I didn’t volunteer. I never do for these things, no matter the social pressure. When the event took place, students swung their arms and flung the pies into the teachers’ faces so hard that it hurt. One teacher was in tears afterwards.

Hard coaching without relationship produces resentment. Relationship without hard coaching produces entitlement. The sweet spot is a player who knows you love them and knows you will not lower the bar for them.

@CoachRock73 Never forget the Wednesday before Thanksgiving calling practice at MCA because you couldn’t see the ball because of the gnats.

Obviously, none of these guys have ever ended practice under a "Category 5 Gnat Attack!" Everybody on the coast knows to say your peace before the gnats get to the bone.
