I got into full-time freelancing in October 2025 with more questions than answers. Up until then, every opportunity I had came through referrals. I’d never gone out to find clients on my own. And this shift came shortly after leaving my role as a UI/UX designer at an AI company, so yeah… it felt was more or less a gamble. Since then, I’ve kept things simple: I show my work. That alone has opened doors to collaborate with incredible founders across health tech, fintech, and AI products. And in just about 5 months, I’ve earned more working independently than I did across the entirety of 2024–2025 in my previous role. I am not trying to brag, but just to show you guys what worked for me. For some, it's Upwork, Contra and Cold emailing. I tried these and got nothing out of them. Freelancing can feel uncertain at first, but sometimes all it takes is putting your work out there consistently and letting it speak. It also helps to post "good work", at least that's what worked for me.

With AI replacing everyone’s jobs, one question that’s being asked by many people to me: “which skills should I learn?” The only suggestion I’ll give is: learn animation and design, and you’ll be the most secure person. Design skills with animation skills is a very dangerous combo and will give you visibility + projects offer easily!
