@hannastasia @itsafronomics Most places in Europe will default to bringing you bottled water, and outside of tourist traps as long as you specify tap water will not charge.

@itsafronomics I always hated sparkling water until I spent time in Europe. They’ll ask you if you want water still or sparkling (met gas?), but charge you for either (bottled). I figured if I had to pay, I’d at least get SOMETHING out of the carbonated one! …and then I developed a taste haha

My hometown @cityofames just approved a net-zero plan that includes trips under 3 miles still being 75% car trips. Laughable even with electric transition.

@arpitrage Utrecht and Den Bosh offer some alternative takes... that are closer to Maastricht that is.

@arpitrage The trip to Amsterdam is far, by Dutch standards, 2.5 hrs, but Utrecht, and Den Bosch offer some alternative takes on old Dutch cities that will feel quite different than Amsterdam and Maastricht. I'm particularly fond of Utrecht as its old canals are quite special.

Anything particularly fun to do in the Netherlands (or nearby) if you have a day or two to spare?
