@teecha_ No matter how small it is - start somewhere. I went to a sales conference once and the presenter said some of us every month give our barbers and bill companies money faithfully. Every single month we do this but we who work the money get absolutely nothing. It stuck with me.

Yes. And I’ll add this: one of my mentors once told me to aim for having at least 6 months of living expenses saved.
Push for 3. Then you’ll get to 6, then 12. Along the way, you’ll notice a real shift in how you relate to money and manage the urge to spend.

Everytime this salary issue comes up I scan through the comments… and you know what is always missing - savings. My grandmother told me, “Kerry if you earn $1 save 10c.” That stayed with me. Savings turn into investments. If you have no savings, your situation will always remain the same. Young people, please save something, no matter how small!

If you're a chronic overspender, you absolutely have to make your savings obligatory. Salary deductions and partner plans are your best friends. If you have access to the money, YOU'RE GOING TO SPEND IT. STOP DELUDING YOURSELF INTO THINKING THAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE. YOU'RE NOT!
