@on_da_spectrum I'd put TV On The Radio in that competition. They, along with Animal Collective, felt like true breaths of fresh air back in the mid-2000's. Just strikingly original.

The other day I offhandedly said that Animal Collective is the best American band of the last 25 years, but now that I’ve had some time to think about it, I think it might be a 100% true statement. Who else could it be? There’s really almost no competition
