Using references is such a vital and standard practice amongst artists.
I personally have a very hard time visualizing images clearly. I'll set up a 3d model to help get my idea down, and sometimes depending on deadlines, loosely draw over the model before going in and stylizing

You basically shamed someone for blocking you when your entire existence on my timeline has been you abusing an artist, being incredibly rude and destructive, and just creating so much drama that it’s all I know you for.
You also manipulated the reason why she blocked, and kept the post up when she apologised (when she didn’t have to).
You’ve let so many people shit on her in your comments too.
You genuinely come off as a person who deserves to be blocked. You didn’t even apologise for your post where you claim she blocked you for a similar design.

I got a message from someone stating nerrochii hasn’t responded to them since they placed a commission 6 months ago!!
This is absolutely wild. They can’t communicate. Can’t compete commissions. And won’t even refund

Since we’re calling out artists I have my own to share. I really didn’t want to do this but I’m very upset I commissioned Nerrochii in February for a character design. I was so excited because I’ve always wanted a design by them I put in the commission. Made the payment and even double checked it all went through. I checked in for updates about possible starting time etc. nothing. They even released a whole adopt pack before I got anything so I decided I wanted a refund. I couldn’t do it from my end because PayPal didn’t even show me the invoice. After a tiny bit of communication I said I’d still be willing to wait because again I absolutely wanted a design from them. They said they could do it but it would take a week but also said they could send me for the refund. Either way it’s a month over due now and I still haven’t gotten anything. Not even a WIP. No refund. And no communication..

Sure, I might not be the best out there, the difference is I actually put in the effort and learn as I go. End of the day I have skills you will never have.

I think if you're making your own assets to trace it's totally fine. I know it can look uncanny and obvious at times, but if you integrate it into your art well it can look pretty good.

actually that pmo so bad here are a couple before/afters with 3d models. it's a helpful tool that we should be embracing instead of penalizing and sometimes it IS easier to trace it and then stylize later instead of fumbling thru just the visual reference. all done in design doll

Professional artists showing that they still use 3D models as reference and sometimes rely on tracing real life photos to show how ridiculous the new rules are and somehow it's interpreted them as them actually not being good at art.

I sadly had one encounter with a bad artist once that took way too long to finish their piece and then delivered something that didn't look like their previous work at all.. 🫠

I'll never understand the animosity towards artists that use legitimate tools. This is not doing the work for you, you still need to have a basic understanding of perspective, how to draw hair, clothing, etc. It still takes the same amount of work but with visual assistance. Can we get with it, art community? Seriously, it's been decades.
