The base policy is still rough and struggles especially with precision grabbing. But it clearly learned the goal and retried until it succeeded.
The second part of the assembly is still a problem. It fails to grab the part, and by then the left arm has already moved forward and blocked access to it, so I stopped deployment.
But from the rollouts I’ve done, I’m impressed with how well it learns such a long-context task. It clearly is just a matter of showing it with intervention how to correct errors.
Just finished collecting my first intervention-advantage labeled dataset. Retraining soon.
Lfg, so much to do.

Good fun welding again this Sunday. We had a fireman, multiple software engineers, a rainmaker and an aerospace engineer all getting some weld practice in

Welding again this Sunday at 10:00am in Hawthorne. If you’ve never welded before I’ll get you started on mig, tig and stick - steel, stainless and aluminum. If you already know how to weld and just want to get some reps in, stop by as well. Sundays are open mat. Shoot me a DM for the address

i’m spending $500k this summer designing & shipping actuators made in the USA.
this is your chance to yell at me weekly and iterate with us, DMs open!

@afshawnl great question. I have been working on some examples based on recent papers. Both are useful.
arxiv.org/abs/2511.08058 for example or bivector.net ... really changed how I think about physics and representing geometry.

Current workflow
1. LLM agent with label and read/write access to gmail. Acts as filter and router given a set of 10 or so simple conditionals
2. Simple CLI(LLM acting as a CLI) Loop reads and feeds just in time context to a worker. Plan, write test, append new code without changing old code, verify test.c passes
3. prompt.c automates some task

NASA has identified soft goods, advanced composites, non-flammable materials, and dust-tolerant soft-sided logistics systems as critical technology gaps for the Moon Base program.
The need for advanced textiles goes beyond clothing.
It extends to habitats, covering everything from wall panels to storage bags. Nonwovens, felts, webbings, zippers, sewing threads, coatings, finishes, foams, and elastics.
A complete soft good is accurately described as an engineered system, often termed "technical soft goods," which blends material science, industrial design, and manufacturing strategy to create durable, high-performance items.
Far from simple sewn textiles, these products are designed to perform specific, often demanding functions under pressure.
