Regarding the design of Alpha Halo in Campaign Evolved
So, when you look at the new Ring in Campaign Evolved’s menu, you’ll notice some changes from Alpha Halo 2001 and Zeta Halo of Infinite. The exterior is more detailed, and the ring seems smaller and maybe a bit thicker. But in reality, the ring is actually scaled down to fit the menu’s camera movements, so those extra details that might look chaotic aren’t as noticeable in the game.
For instance, the bumps of light on the menu ring are way more prominent than on the in-game cutscene ring. The ring is much larger in the game, and the natural lighting makes the details less striking compared to the artificial light on the menu.
The scaled down version makes the details more noticeable and clustered. Also, the camera seems to move faster than in the original, but it’s not as fast as it looks. It’s only a few seconds quicker at best. This might be because the camera in CE moves slower when showing the ring’s exterior, or maybe the ring in CE is thicker, making it take longer to pass by.
Which would be funny cause I know some people have said that the Campaign Evolved ring looks too thick but here the original at times looks thicker. Plus, the ring in CE’s menu is a still 3D object, while Campaign Evolved’s ring is rotating. This slight difference in camera rotation speed and ring movement makes it look faster than the original.
While I was typing this, I had the original menu and the new one playing and they almost lined up perfectly. Campaign Evolved is just a tad faster. But I think the main menu version of Campaign Evolved doesn’t really show what the ring looks like in its true size and lighting. When you see it in space, those details blend well with the design, and it’s a solid remake of the original ring.

It's tiny because it's literally doing what the OG game did. Make a small version to have the camera loop around it for the menu.
This is what the actual game presents. This is closer to intended scale.

@singlmothr @Mr_Rebs_ The aurora on the ring is actually a nice touch...
It’s because of the sun’s position. That’s why it feels “disconnected” from everything, when in reality, that’s just how light works in an environment like that :P
After all, it's a scaled-down 3D representation of the ring.
